Ned is President and the Chief Executive Officer of The Hunter-Wimberly Group. He has held executive and senior level business development and technology platform management positions with L-3 Communications, Stratizon Corporation, Colgate-Palmolive, Rubbermaid, and Baxter International.
He is a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and served as the Program Manager on three successful U.S. Navy contracts involving interdependent major commands to demonstrate the benefits of using a single intelligent user interface on enterprise computers to simplify the user experience, eliminate redundant administrative processes, and improve enterprise efficiency for the sailor life-cycle. He also led a successful pilot project for the Commonwealth of Virginia to demonstrate the positive impact of deploying an intelligent user interface on the state network to simplify a veteran's experience, reduce state operational costs, and automate the exchange of data between state and multiple federal agencies. These efforts led to his testimony as an expert witness before the U.S. Congress in 2008 on “The use of artificial intelligence to improve the VA’s claims processing system."
Graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981, Mr. Hunter received a B.S. in General Engineering and his Navy wings of gold in July 1982. He served as a Navy P-3C Mission Commander and Flight Instructor conducting global anti-submarine warfare and covert communication operations from bases in Japan, Australia, Thailand, Oman, Djibouti, Somalia, the Philippines, and the Aleutian Islands. He earned his MBA with honors from Emory University's Goizueta School of Business in 2002.
